Welcome

Welcome to my little corner of the world. I am so honored by your visit today. My name is Kristi and I am married to my college sweetheart(I refer to him here as "Mr. Incredible"), momma to my 2 beautiful girls who are growing much too quickly, a high school computer teacher, photographer, and a gardener (at times~right now I'm growing weeds). I love to laugh, drink strong Starbucks coffee, take pictures, and be anywhere my family is. Jesus is my Savior and I try so hard to be the wife and momma that He has called me to be. I often fail but He lovingly picks me up, dusts me off, and encourages me that with Him all things are possible. Feel free to join me on this journey of faith, stop in and say hello, look around, and leave a comment~I love comments. Why "Kiki's Corner?" My nephews call me Aunt Kiki and I love that too.

We are God's Treasures-WFW Back to School

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." I Peter 2:9-10
This is my prayer for this year:
That we would know who we are in Christ Jesus and that we would live like it.

We had our sweet time Sunday night where I have the privilege of praying with the girls and dedicating our school year to God. I just love those beside the bed sweet times of prayer. They are moments to treasure. Daddy left them sweet notes on their first day of school (he leaves for work before they wake up). Oh, I just love that!

One of my favorite things that he wrote to the girls was this, "Remember you only need to be yourself! When the world or your friends tell you to be something else, run it by God. See if it matches who you are in Him. If not, then put it aside and keep true to what He wants you to be!"

We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood. As Beth said this weekend, we are heirs, or heiresses, of the King. What would our lives be like if we lived like we believed that?

That is so wonderful my friend. Your daughters are beautiful. I pray they stay strong in a world that wants to be them down. What your husband said was perfect.

So very true. I love writing the girls notes, just as much as I loved receiving them as a little girl. They will treasure those times forever.

Thanks for praying for my girls this morning...I will say a prayer for yours as well, and their school year.

You may not feel like Mother of the Year, but I think I could learn a thing or two from you. Dedicating a school year....notes for the first day....

These are the kinds of things I want to read in a book, maybe titled, "Things I Did Right." And pass it out to all the moms with younger kids. Great tips!

I have often thought of the same things. That we must live our lives remembering at all times that we are sons and daughters of the king.

I loved the way you began the school year, and the verse and pictures are beautiful. Powerful words from your husband to your daughters, too. Happy WFW!

What a great verse for back to school!

It reminded me of a story I heard Steven Curtis Chapman tell on the Focus on the Family broadcasts that are playing this week. He told of how his son Will has gone back to school this year and gathered his friends together and stressing to them the importance of living for God and living in this moment like there is none other. What a beautiful testimony! May your girls be able to share their faith with their friends as they are back in school, too.

Happy WFW!

Lovely picture and very encouraging post! What a great encouragement to be reminder that we are a chosen people and a people belonging to God. We are not to conform to this world but by transformed by the Word of God and to be a light that shines for Him in this world.

Your girls are so beautiful! And it is so sweet of your dear hubby to write such an encouraging note to your daughters. May God keep your family near to Him and may your daughters continue to grow as women after God own hearts. Take care and have a blessed day!

Kristi,
I stopped over at Amy's tonight to check all the posts. She had a post asking for prayer for the family.
They lost the family dog today and now she is bottle feeding the puppies.
If you can please stop over and offer her some encouragement.
I'll come back by tomorrow and read your post.
