Welcome

Welcome to my little corner of the world. I am so honored by your visit today. My name is Kristi and I am married to my college sweetheart(I refer to him here as "Mr. Incredible"), momma to my 2 beautiful girls who are growing much too quickly, a high school computer teacher, photographer, and a gardener (at times~right now I'm growing weeds). I love to laugh, drink strong Starbucks coffee, take pictures, and be anywhere my family is. Jesus is my Savior and I try so hard to be the wife and momma that He has called me to be. I often fail but He lovingly picks me up, dusts me off, and encourages me that with Him all things are possible. Feel free to join me on this journey of faith, stop in and say hello, look around, and leave a comment~I love comments. Why "Kiki's Corner?" My nephews call me Aunt Kiki and I love that too.

Miss Scarlett's Baby

One of our cousins excitedly told us that a baby calf might make its way into the world sometime soon. Mr. Incredible knew that I would jump at the chance to take pictures of a baby calf. He was so right! The text came about 6:00 last night. We quickly jumped in the suburban and drove like the wind to see.

Momma Scarlet and her new calf were so precious! There is something about those gorgeous velvety ears that makes me smile. And Miss Scarlet is the best mom! She lovingly cleaned up her new baby girl until her fur was perfectly fluffy.

Miss Scarlet lovingly encouraged her baby girl to stand up.  What a sweet capture:

 Sweet wobbly legs, eyes wide open, instinctively knew to look for a little nourishment. And she eventually found just what she was looking for. What a blessing to get to capture these images. A baby calf and her adoring momma. Oh, God is so good!

See You at the Pole 2012

Today is See You at the Pole. A morning set apart for students to gather at the school flag pole. I am so thankful for these students who would gather together early to pray around the flag pole. This is also our Homecoming Spirit Week and today's dress up theme is "Mismatch." How fitting to combine the two. Christians are certainly not perfect and we are all a bit mismatched at times. Don't you agree? In a world where compromise is easy and the "norm" and it's easier to go with the crowd instead of standing up for what is right and Who is right, this is refreshing to see. May they always be set apart for His great honor and glory and His purpose instead of their own. Maybe this world could take a lesson from our students!

Can you see my Hannah? She is very much sporting her best mismatched outfit and has on mustard yellow tights.

It wasn't about the donuts and the juice, although that was a nice treat for the students, but it was all about Him. Perfect start to the day!

Fall Mini Sessions are here! These sessions are perfect for updating family photos, Christmas Cards and Christmas gifts!

A Touch of Fall

This past Saturday morning I woke up to the most wonderful discovery! A cold front had come through our part of Texas and lowered the temperature by 30 degrees. Delight! Instead of 100 degree temperatures, we were in the 70's. Which totally made me in the mood for Fall! Fortunately, I had visited the Hob Lob (Hobby Lobby) a few days before and picked out things for a new fall wreath. My other one looked a bit worn and faded. I also stopped by Starbucks enjoyed a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Hello Pumpkin Spice Lover....it's been too long! I am loving the mesh that Hobby Lobby is carrying. Thanks to my parents, I have the mesh covered for Christmas decorating, but I thought I would try some for Fall too. Here is what I did:

I purchased this ready made wreath for 40% off but thought it needed something. It was too flimsy for my taste:

I also purchased a grapevine wreath and two rolls of orange mesh. I already had some orange ribbon in my craft closet. I simply made loops out of the mesh and attached them, with my orange ribbon, to the grapevine wreath.  No, I didn't measure each one.

This is what the grapevine wreath looked like covered in mesh loops.  I then added the pre-made wreath from Hobby Lobby and secured it to the grapevine wreath with the mesh and added a cute little scarecrow:

And then hung my new Fall wreath on my door.  I think it took longer to shop and purchase the items then it did to put it all together.  Happy Fall, Ya'll!

The "C" Family {A Sneak Peek}

This weekend, Mr. Incredible, Hannah and I had the blessing taking the "C" Family photos. They are our cousins and this photo shoot has been quite a while in the making. We had to postpone one session due to a storm and I was looking forward to our shoot this weekend. They were game for anything which made for a lot of laughs...and dodging giant ants and a few other things that, true to my nature on photo shoots, I stumbled over. "C" Family, thanks for the fun and for enjoying dinner with us after the shoot. I hope you enjoy your Sneak Peek!

The "R" Family {A Sneak Peek}

Hannah and I had a blast with the precious family! The 4 boys were full of energy, belly laughs, and tons of creativity and fun! We enjoyed every minute!  What a great way to start our session, then to try capturing life.  I smile every time I see this image because I can only imagine that this must be a day in the life type photo.  Busy, fun boys playing and running while their Mom and Dad try to capture a few stolen moments to reconnect:

The sky looked like rain was on the horizon, but thankfully it held off for a bit.  I'll take 79 degree temperatures any day. Come on fall!  The boys introduced themselves as Theodore, Alvin, and Simon...so fun!

What a cutie...who just might have a girlfriend already...I'm just sayin'!

And this one cracked me up with his posing.  Gap casting call for this one!

I couldn't help posting this one!  He did a little dance for me and then flashed this smile and my heart swooned!

Oh look at the preciousness in this one too!  Be still my heart!

4 handsome boys with a beautiful mommy and daddy mixed with lots of love and fun equals an absolute blast for this photographer!  Thank you sweet "R" family for the blessing!

Let's Climb a Tree

"Once there was a tree..... and she loved a little boy. And every day the boy would come and he would gather her leaves and make them into crowns and play king of the forest. He would climb up her trunk and swing from her branches and eat apples. And they would play hide-and-go-seek. And when he was tired, he would sleep in her shade. And the boy loved the tree.......very much. And the tree was happy."~Shell Silverstein The Giving Tree.
There is just something about golden light, a tree, and a boy with a smile as big as Texas!

The "S" Family {A Sneak Peek}

The morning couldn't have been more perfect! Gorgeous sunlight falling perfectly on this beautiful family and their cotton field. Look how tall their cotton is! Wow!

Love this next image! Could those two brothers be any cuter?!

While the boys played in the dirt for a bit, we had a few seconds to capture their beautiful mommy and daddy.

This little cutie captured my heart...so cute! He has the most adorable southern drawl!

And big brother did too! He can work my iphone like no other...and goodness gracious, not only is he so handsome, but he has the best manners too!

Basketballs, boots, and brothers...they all go together perfectly!

Thanks for a wonderful Saturday morning, "S" Family.  A lot more pictures to follow in your gallery soon!
