Welcome

Welcome to my little corner of the world. I am so honored by your visit today. My name is Kristi and I am married to my college sweetheart(I refer to him here as "Mr. Incredible"), momma to my 2 beautiful girls who are growing much too quickly, a high school computer teacher, photographer, and a gardener (at times~right now I'm growing weeds). I love to laugh, drink strong Starbucks coffee, take pictures, and be anywhere my family is. Jesus is my Savior and I try so hard to be the wife and momma that He has called me to be. I often fail but He lovingly picks me up, dusts me off, and encourages me that with Him all things are possible. Feel free to join me on this journey of faith, stop in and say hello, look around, and leave a comment~I love comments. Why "Kiki's Corner?" My nephews call me Aunt Kiki and I love that too.

Thankful for Blogging Buddies

"This is the day the LORD has made;

We will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24.

I'm so thankful for a new day, for the blessing of getting to be a wife and mother to the ones I always dreamed about and hoped for and prayed for, for the blessing of my parents and the joy we have being neighbors and worshipping together at the same church, for our new youth minister intern and his precious wife who are expecting a baby any moment, for my Jesus who is absolutely the best gift I have ever received, I have known Him for 32 years!

And...today I am thankful for you, my blogging buddies! Kristen wrote a blog this week about this "parallel world." She echoed how I feel in my heart. When God began convincing me that I should start writing a blog, I was convinced that it would only last for a week maybe two, because what on earth would I write about and who would care to stop by and read it???

And, what about this safety thing??? He kept encouraging and I finally stepped out in faith. I really thought, I'm not so great about writing consistently in my journal, maybe this could be a sort of journal just for me. And then, you came along. Oh, you have blessed me so much! I'm blown away and so honored that you stop by my blog.

It's hard to explain in word how much you, my friends, mean to me especially when we have never met face to face. I know I'll meet you face to face someday, but maybe not on this side of glory. I've laughed with you, cried with you, prayed for you, rejoiced over your precious "we're expecting" news, watched as your little ones grow, and just enjoyed seeing what God is doing in your lives.

It is a privilege and a joy to be on this journey with you. I've tried to explain it to my other friends, the ones that don't blog, but they just don't get it. Boy, are they missing out! I've learned so much from you. My family has appreciated all of your recipes, encouragements to get better organized, sewing projects (even when I wanted to get out the hot glue gun instead), a new way to display scripture (I just love Word Filled Wednesdays), and this day--each Thursday, a day to actually write down what we are thankful for.

So, today, as many days, I'm thanking God for you and for this special friendship we share. You are special and God and I think you are wonderful!

One of my favorite quotes from Max Lucado's book God Thinks You're Wonderful says, "God is Fond of you. If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it. If He had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk, He’ll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

It's true! You are wonderful. I hope you realize that today!

Oh and I haven't given up on my blog design yet lol. It's still fun, it's just that blogger was giving me the trouble.
Have a most excellent day my friend.

I just love reading your writing and am also thankful for this way in which to express my heart!
You encourage me as a young mom trying to develop the traditions and values that I long for my family to live by.
Thanks!

I love this post. I've only just begun my blogging journey, but I am getting so much from my new friends already. I wish I had been inspired to start sooner.

Oh Kristi, this was so beautifully written and I would have said it myself if I could have found the words as graciously as you did. My blog buddies have meant so much to me this year + I have been blogging. You're right, not everyone understands...but other bloggers do. Thank you for these words!

It is neat how you can feel close to blogging buddies (Siestas to boot).. I had a ticket to the Fiesta, but it didn't work out... So I am getting over my sinful self about being jealous in the bad way that I can't be there, but turning it to jealously in a good way that all that get to be there grow closer to God and each other :) Blessings, Kim

I feel the same way. My non blogging friends don't get it. It is hard to explain that you can feel so close and in touch with people you have never met. Thanks for writing this, today. Since we may be moving soon, due to hubby's job situation, I am excited to know that I will have all my blog friends right along side me. I won't lose touch with them, at all!

Kristi that is the sweetest post! What encouraging words---Max is one of my FAVORITE authors! A step of faith sometimes feels more like a LEAP of faith...but I am glad you are "steppin' out in faith!"

This is such a sweet post! I am so thankful to God that I can know you and so many others through blogging. I have never imagine that possible! What a blessing from God! It is so wonderful that we can pray and encourage one another although we are separated by so many mountains and seas.

Isn't it wonderful that with Christ in our hearts, we can enjoy one another on this side of glory and the next! Praise Him. Thanks for sharing your lovely thankful heart with us. May God continue to make you a blessing to many and bring many blessed friendships to you through blogging. Take care and God bless!
