Welcome

Welcome to my little corner of the world. I am so honored by your visit today. My name is Kristi and I am married to my college sweetheart(I refer to him here as "Mr. Incredible"), momma to my 2 beautiful girls who are growing much too quickly, a high school computer teacher, photographer, and a gardener (at times~right now I'm growing weeds). I love to laugh, drink strong Starbucks coffee, take pictures, and be anywhere my family is. Jesus is my Savior and I try so hard to be the wife and momma that He has called me to be. I often fail but He lovingly picks me up, dusts me off, and encourages me that with Him all things are possible. Feel free to join me on this journey of faith, stop in and say hello, look around, and leave a comment~I love comments. Why "Kiki's Corner?" My nephews call me Aunt Kiki and I love that too.

Junior High Homecoming Highlights

Happy Friday!!!! This has been Homecoming Week around here. The week started w/ Pajama Day on Monday (I missed taking pictures because I see my girls in their pjs daily).

Tuesday was "Tacky Day." They dressed as tacky as possible. Hannah was so excited, like she had waited her whole life for this day. She picked out her ensemble the night before. She wanted to add a zebra jacket but thankfully she just went with this:

Her goal was to win the prize for the Most Tacky and you know what? She won!

Way to go baby, you get your sense of style from your father's side of the family. Oh, I kid! But, those are Poppie's shoes (Mr. Incredible's dad). Vintage cool!

Tuesday night was the Community Wide Homecoming Parade. She and two of her classmates were picked to pull their red wagon float. They won!

Wednesday was "Red Carpet Day." The Junior High students dressed as movie stars. Hannah was Elle Woods from Legally Blond but all of her buddies kept calling her Paris Hilton. Oiy!

One of her teachers saw "Elle" in the hall and shouted, "You're going to Harvard!" (A quote from the movie) She thought that was totally cool!

I know that I am her mom, but wow! Isn't she beautiful?!

Thursday was "Represent Your Favorite School Day." Hannah borrowed her Daddy's Baylor Line t-shirt and wore it with pride. She was green and gold in a sea of tee-tee, I mean TT, for Texas Tech, yuck! Sic 'em bears!

And, she was chosen as Student of the Week!

What a great week she has had!

I feel that I must add: Rachel has had a GREAT week too. They had different themed days this week at the high school, but it's just not the same. They did have a "Tacky Day" yesterday and Hannah offered to dress Rachel but all she received was a "No thank you!" Can you blame her?

Mr. Incredible and I have had a great week too. We have a special something planned on Saturday that just might involve a camera. I can't give you the details because it's sort of a Christmas surprise. We have planned this for months. Wouldn't you know it, 3 days before the big day, I have a huge zit on my left cheek the size of Mt. Vesuvius. I kid you not! When people quit looking you in the eyes to speak to you and stare at your cheek with wide eyes of horror, you know it's not a figment of your imagination but I sure wish that it were! I'm thinking of naming it because it clearly has a life of its own. Oh my goodness! I'm sorry if that was way more information than you wanted but someone out there can relate. Mt. Vesuvius go away and don't come back another day 'cause I'm not in junior high anymore!

I better run! Have a blessed weekend. We are praying for our fellow Texans and our neighbors in Louisiana that God would be merciful and that He would calm the storm as only He can do.

Joyfully,

Kristi
