Welcome

Welcome to my little corner of the world. I am so honored by your visit today. My name is Kristi and I am married to my college sweetheart(I refer to him here as "Mr. Incredible"), momma to my 2 beautiful girls who are growing much too quickly, a high school computer teacher, photographer, and a gardener (at times~right now I'm growing weeds). I love to laugh, drink strong Starbucks coffee, take pictures, and be anywhere my family is. Jesus is my Savior and I try so hard to be the wife and momma that He has called me to be. I often fail but He lovingly picks me up, dusts me off, and encourages me that with Him all things are possible. Feel free to join me on this journey of faith, stop in and say hello, look around, and leave a comment~I love comments. Why "Kiki's Corner?" My nephews call me Aunt Kiki and I love that too.

Falling for Fall

DIY Day @ ASPTL

Happy DIY day. Fall is in the air around our parts of Texas. I am catching glimpses of its glory in the cool crisp mornings. Since we were all blessed with a three day weekend, I decided to get out my fall decorations. One of my favorite places to decorate for fall is in the dining room. The long table almost begs for a little bit of fall.

Here is what it looks like now:

My arrangement was bought in Canton, the large candle holders and candles are from Hobby Lobby, and the cheetah table runner is simply unfinished material...how easy is that?

To get the Fall look, I started with an untwisted grapevine wreath:

I wove it around my candlesticks (all of my decorations are 4 years old...which is a pretty good bargain when you can re-use them year after year-they all were bought w/ 40% off coupons at Hobby Lobby)

Then my daughters and I added a pre-made swag that has leaves, and berries, and fruit:

Next, we added 2 strands of fall leaves and then we tucked in little pumpkins:

I also added some of those raffia pumpkins. They were a bit too orange so I added a little burnt umber paint to antique them a little bit:

I may add some more candles in the crystal candlesticks some day:

And ta-da:

It's all ready for fall!

Kristi - Your table arrangement is so lush! I love all the accents and they way they blend together. What a great idea to use the Burnt Umber to soften the pumpkin. I used it recently on my lavabo. It just works wonders. Hey, maybe it would "soften" those wrinkles on my face!

Have a great day.

It's beautiful!

The table we have, we use and I have to remove my table runner to be able to fit plates on it. :/ I'd love to have something like you made though.

Oh and I can't wait to go to Canton next month. Yippee!!!
