He is smiling...and hopefully you are now too! Have a blessed day! Don't forget to wear a smile!
Back to School
I really cannot believe the school year has already begun. I have yet to blog about our summer...and now it's already gone! It seems I blinked and we are already in the new school year.
My Hannah is a sophomore in high school and my Rachel is a Sophomore in college.
I am in my 4th official year as the High School computer teacher/yearbook adviser/webmaster/computer apps UIL sponsor...and this year I am also co-prom Queen which means I get to have fun planning Prom with my fellow friend and teacher. Whew! Yes, I am still enjoying my photography business as well.
I am thankful for all of the abilities and gifts God has given me, I could do NOTHING in my own power, and I pray that I use them for His great honor and glory this school year! With back to school being this week, I thought it would be fun to post a few School/Teacher related things I found on Pinterest:

Rain and Rainbows
Our part of Texas has been blessed with some much needed and much anticipated rain showers. I always LOVE looking for the rainbow after it rains. My man and I were driving home Saturday afternoon and I spotted this one! My eyes flooded with tears because I was missing my Rachel who is already settled back in at college. I was talking to the Lord about that when He opened my eyes to see this beautiful rainbow!
I didn't have my favorite camera with me, but I did have my Iphone. So, I snapped this image through the dash of the pickup as fast as I could while my man drove us home.
What an awesome God we serve! There is no other god like our God!
Baby Casen {A Sneak Peek}
This precious baby boy and his mommy and daddy came to my studio Saturday morning! Oh, what fun to get to cuddle and take pictures of this little cutie!
He was so sleepy that he actually was blowing tiny bubbles. Precious!
These hats are so special for this little cowboy. They belonged to his Grandpa and his Great-Grandpas.
And when his mommy started talking to him....he flashed this adorable grin!
Oh, those eyelashes!
I couldn't resist putting this little 6 pound baby boy in my favorite Baylor bear hat! Looking good!
This image of him, safe and sound, in his daddy's arms gets me every time I see it! This little guy came so early and spent his first month in the hospital. He is a precious little miracle and I felt so blessed to be able to take his newborn pictures!

What's Happening Around our Home?
I cannot believe this is August! Already? Ugh! Where has summer gone?
In just a few days we will be taking this one back to college:
Everyone tells me that it is easier the second time around, but this heart of mine is not so sure. Yes, I want Rachel to be doing what God wants her to do and to follow the dreams He has for her precious life, but the summer has simply flown and I'm getting use to seeing this face on a daily basis!
Her daddy and I bought her this cool Pappasan Chair from Pier One. It has a fluffy, furry, warm mattress cover that feels like a giant warm hug. I found her reading "Harbinger" in it just yesterday. I think she is going to like her new chair in her dorm room.
Speaking of "Harbinger," have you read it? Rachel just finished it and I can't wait to begin reading it. My dad took 21 pages of notes and Rachel took several pages of notes too.
Between band practice, yes it seems like they started extra early this year, and getting ready for cross country, my baby girl still helps me with my garden. We have been out of town so much this summer that my vegetables often get to grow and grow before we finally get around to picking them. This is what Hannah looked like yesterday:
That's a giant cucumber in her back pocket and just look at the size of the giant zucchini in the basket...or I should say taking over the basket. A sweet photography client came by that afternoon to pick up her picture order and declared that we could enter our vegetables in the county fair and win. Ha!
I am having fun meeting and photographing new clients and my faithful clients. It's been so fun to design countless numbers of albums, canvas images, Christmas cards, and standouts. The UPS man seems to make a daily stop at our home with deliveries. I would take a picture to show you the large number of boxes stacked inside my front door but it's 1:20 in the morning and my family is sleeping. I should be sleeping too, but I can't.
I took a not-so-graceful fall during my last photo shoot. I thought it was my pride that was bruised the most, but I was wrong. I won't dare show you pictures, but my color changing bruises are a daily joke around our house.
I am trying to finish cleaning out drawers and closets and Mt. Vesuvius (aka my office) before school starts. I'm trying to plan out crock pot meals that I can put in my freezer too. Ready or not~School is just around the corner.
Whew! That's all for now. Have a blessed day!

Mustang Cheerleaders {A Sneak Peek}
We have known these girls since they were itty-bitty. Even though we don't see them as often as we would like, it's fun to watch them grow up. They seem to be growing up just as quickly as our girls. And we all know, that is way too fast!
This year, they are both cheerleaders. I'm not sure if they will get to cheer together very often, but how cool that they both are Mustang Cheerleaders! And yes, I can nearly see big sister shaking her head. If she were writing this, she would probably tell you that she is a Varsity cheerleader and her little sister is JV and their mom is a cheerleading sponsor. I hope they both enjoy cheering together when they can this year because big sister's senior year will be over before they know it.
I told Mr. Incredible that I need this truck! I don't care if it has an engine in it or not. I need this truck. Ha! I couldn't even tell you if it is a Ford, GMC, or whatever but, I can tell you it looks great in pictures! I know this one isn't for sale but I'm constantly on the lookout for just the right truck with great character. In my mind, it's an old Ford and I'm going to call it Harrison Ford. Ha!
Anyway, here are the beautiful Mustang Cheerleader sisters with "Harrison Ford!"
I don't have a clue what this thingy is but it looks great in pictures with a beautiful JV cheerleader standing in front of it:
I hope their daddy has lots of shotguns around their house! They are beautiful!
Love the sunlight in her hair:
And rusty old barns bring me all kinds of delight too! I'm so thankful these two were willing to meet me on an early summer morning for a few photos. And I hope they have an amazing year! Two bits, four bits, six bits a dollar. All for the Mustangs! Stand up and holler!
