Welcome

Welcome to my little corner of the world. I am so honored by your visit today. My name is Kristi and I am married to my college sweetheart(I refer to him here as "Mr. Incredible"), momma to my 2 beautiful girls who are growing much too quickly, a high school computer teacher, photographer, and a gardener (at times~right now I'm growing weeds). I love to laugh, drink strong Starbucks coffee, take pictures, and be anywhere my family is. Jesus is my Savior and I try so hard to be the wife and momma that He has called me to be. I often fail but He lovingly picks me up, dusts me off, and encourages me that with Him all things are possible. Feel free to join me on this journey of faith, stop in and say hello, look around, and leave a comment~I love comments. Why "Kiki's Corner?" My nephews call me Aunt Kiki and I love that too.

Boot Scootin'

After the gifts were opened, Hannah had to wait a week until the birthday trip....a week!  Bless her heart.  We were all counting the days.  The night before the trip, she came down with Pink Eye.  UGH!  Thankfully, the pediatrician called in the eye drops and my man made the trek at 11:00 at night to pick up the much needed medicine at the local pharmacy that was  20 miles away.  The next morning, her eye looked so much better.  Thankfully, the trip was still on!

After school, we loaded the suburban and headed to pick up our Rachel and to meet her friends for dinner.  Knowing Hannah adores hamburgers, Rachel chose a new place, to us, called Wholly Cow!  Seriously cute name with delicious burgers served on homemade jalapeno bread~yum!

After feasting on hamburgers and fries, we made the drive to the favorite local college hangout.  We went boot scootin' with all the college kids!  It was so fun!  There was a live band and everything and the best part?  No alcohol.

Within all of two minutes, our baby girl-the birthday girl, was asked to dance...be still my heart!  Our girls were dancing a lot....but we were too and it was a total blast...even for this preacher's kid who seems to have two left feet when it comes to dancing.

They roll up the carpet at 10:30 and that was our cue to head back to the dorm.  Hannah was super excited because she got to spend the night with her sister and roommate in the dorm.  To be honest, I had a moment of sheer delight for Hannah when I saw them bounding up the stairs of the dorm, and then my heart ached a bit too...because it will be all too soon when Hannah will be headed up the steps of her very own dorm room.  Oiy!

Mr. Incredible and I headed to a hotel close by.  I loved the color scheme of the room and the note waiting on the bed:

They served Starbucks coffee! Delight! Does my man know me or what?! The next day we were off to the Baylor games...but I'll save those pictures for another day.

My Baby is 15

I can't believe it! My baby is 15 years old. I guess it's time I worked on my pre-baby weight. Ha! Rachel came home this weekend and informed me that it's time to get back to blogging as she checks my blog twice a day and I haven't posted in a while...hi Rachel! I love and miss you like crazy. Please, come home soon! Spring break cannot get here soon enough.

Anyway, back to my Hannah. Her daddy and I counted the days until her birthday. I always try to do my shopping early, and we could not wait to give her the gifts! I thought I would nearly burst with excitement or perhaps even spill the beans...but we made it and she had no idea what we had picked out especially for her.

Here is our birthday girl opening her gifts:
My friend Kim, Homesteader's Heart blog, has a talented daughter who has her own etsy shop and that's where I found this fun mustache necklace.  Hannah likes anything mustache and I just knew it would be a hit...and it totally was!

Since Hannah's birthday was on a Friday, it was fun to pick up some cupcakes to share with the basketball girls.  I love it that my beautiful daughter chose Spider man cupcakes!

Ya'll know how I feel about Baylor University.  Right??? Sic 'em bears.  That's where Mr. Incredible and I fell in love three weeks into our Freshman year.  Anyway, you have probably heard about RGIII (Robert Griffin III) winning the Heisman trophy.  When he was awarded the trophy, he was wearing Superman socks with a cape.  Hannah instantly fell in love with his socks.

I searched and searched for them and found them. They were back ordered but arrived just days before her birthday~perfect!   To say she was ecstatic would be a major understatement!  She was pumped and totally changed her outfit for the day so she could sport her new superman socks.  I hear that they make wonder woman socks too....Mr. Incredible are you listening?  On those days where I am feeling less than stellar in the classroom, it might be fun to wear those.  :-)

Love this image:

Her last gift contained tickets to the Baylor Men's basketball game against Kansas State and tickets to the Lady Bear's game against Texas Tech.  A double header in Waco....she was beyond excited.

I have to run for now, but I'll try to post pictures from her birthday weekend trip.  It was a total blast!

A Commercial Photo Shoot for an Upcoming Play

Last Saturday I got to photograph and style a Commercial Shoot for an upcoming play.  It was fun to play with costumes and makeup.  I even fixed the model's hair and makeup. While the photos will be in black and white on stage (I think the play is based in the 1940's), I still like them in color too.   I am so looking forward to this play!!

Miss P-Little Valentine {A Sneak Peek}

You probably remember Miss P from yesterday's Valentine Kisses for sale post. She is the cutest Valentine with the best wardrobe! I had to post a few more this morning. Happy Valentine's Day!

Photo of the Morning

It's almost Valentine's Day and this precious one is ready.  The best part?  She is selling Kisses for $.25. She is totally going to be a millionaire in kisses alone!

Sweet Shot Day

New Every Morning

All-Sufficient

  • On a day where my heart is so heavy for my husband who has several decisions to be made....
  • On a day where mean girl behavior is starting to grate on my last nerve....
  • On a day where my daughter wasn't treated fairly by someone who really should be applauding her extra time and efforts and encouraging her instead of hollering at her....
  • On a day where I would really just like to go back to bed and pull the covers over my head and make the world go away for just a little while....
  • On a day where I was asked to make a slide show for a funeral for the father of two of my students who were given the news this week that their daddy only has days to live...
  • On a day where if I look with my earthly eyes it seems the cheaters and the liers win (even though I know and believe God sees it all and He is the righteous judge and nothing goes unnoticed by Him)....
....His grace is sufficient!  Sufficient grace for even me. What a Savior! How does this world make it without Him?  Thank you Father, that you are over it all, every single thing.  Thank you for all-sufficient mercy and grace and for risking your name on us...I am overwhelmed at the thought and humbled by Your fierce love and protection for us.

I reminded my sweet girl again this morning, "What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31.  More than conquerors...carried by an All-Sufficient God!
