Welcome

Welcome to my little corner of the world. I am so honored by your visit today. My name is Kristi and I am married to my college sweetheart(I refer to him here as "Mr. Incredible"), momma to my 2 beautiful girls who are growing much too quickly, a high school computer teacher, photographer, and a gardener (at times~right now I'm growing weeds). I love to laugh, drink strong Starbucks coffee, take pictures, and be anywhere my family is. Jesus is my Savior and I try so hard to be the wife and momma that He has called me to be. I often fail but He lovingly picks me up, dusts me off, and encourages me that with Him all things are possible. Feel free to join me on this journey of faith, stop in and say hello, look around, and leave a comment~I love comments. Why "Kiki's Corner?" My nephews call me Aunt Kiki and I love that too.

Boo Ya 2010!

It's that time of year again.  Happy fall ya'll!  Really, eventhough it is 80 degrees outside...I really believe fall is just around the corner.  We had a delicious glimpse of fall's crisp cooler air early Sunday morning.  Oh, that cool air just rejuvinates me.  I love it.  Pretty soon the colors will start changing.  Our neighbors across the street planted a gian pumpkin patch, I've always wanted to do that, and the bright orange pumpkins just seem to dance in their fields.  They are beautiful.

So, today is October 1st which marks the beginnin season of Boo Ya!  We do this every year.  If you don't know what You've Been Booed is all about go here:  http://www.beenbooed.com/ and find out.  It is fun!  No, I don't really believe in Halloween and we prefer to celebrate fall but this is fun.  Who doesn't like chocolate delivered to their door?

So, if you don't know how to do it, I have pictures....which kind of gives it away to our friends that just might have been surprised last night, but oh well.  Here goes.

Go buy some candy, no it doesn't have to be Halloween candy, just buy what you like.  We like these:

Ask a handy dandy assistant to help.  Rachel was the closest one around.  Hannah came around to help too....to eat the remaining candy bars.  :-)

Boo Ya doesn't have to be expensive...use what you have.  We grabbed some brown paper lunch sacks and filled them with our candy goodness.

Print out the "You've Been Boo-ed" instructions form the above website.  I had orange card stock so I used that this year.

And then staple the info to the bag...or you can tie it with something pretty.  We went simple this year and just stapled it to the bags.

Isn't my little scarecrow so cute?  Rachel won him at last month's bunko game.  Do you play bunko?  It's fun, fun!

After your bags are ready to go, wait until it is dark outside, put war paint on your face and dress in your best camo so your neighbors won't see you....okay, I'm kidding about the paint and camo although Hannah would LOVE that!

Have your man drive you around town to unsuspecting houses, quietly get out of your car, remembering to dim the lights on the inside of your car, walk up to the house, ring the doorbell, and run like the wind to your car, peel out, screem, "Boo Ya!"  at the top of your lungs.  It is so much fun.  My family looks forward to this every year.

But, try not to get caught, like my siste-in-law did last year.  The family that they "Booed" nearly called the police until they figured out who it was.  Pick people to boo with a good sense of humor (not that this family doesn't, don't read into that, but having to be picked up by the police would not be a part of the Boo ya fun! In fact, it might just ruin it forever!)

So, what are you waiting for....go get some candy and have some fun.  And come back and tell me all about it.  Boo Ya!

Okay...I am going to have to do that this year! Brooke has been going around for the last month or so doing this "running karate kick" and yelling boo-ya! So funny!

I love the pictures and ideas for Booed 2010. This is our first time playing with the kids. I'm unemployed, and we were booed with really nice toys, candy's and gifts, but you've given me some very good ideas that fit within my budget.
