Welcome

Welcome to my little corner of the world. I am so honored by your visit today. My name is Kristi and I am married to my college sweetheart(I refer to him here as "Mr. Incredible"), momma to my 2 beautiful girls who are growing much too quickly, a high school computer teacher, photographer, and a gardener (at times~right now I'm growing weeds). I love to laugh, drink strong Starbucks coffee, take pictures, and be anywhere my family is. Jesus is my Savior and I try so hard to be the wife and momma that He has called me to be. I often fail but He lovingly picks me up, dusts me off, and encourages me that with Him all things are possible. Feel free to join me on this journey of faith, stop in and say hello, look around, and leave a comment~I love comments. Why "Kiki's Corner?" My nephews call me Aunt Kiki and I love that too.

Reflections on Rachel's Surgery Part 3

I watched the clock anxiously while greatly anticipating seeing Rachel again! Would she be awake? Would she be swollen? Would she be able to speak? While we waited, Dr. Roberts, the pediatric neurosurgeon came to the waiting room to give us the great news of her surgery.

He was all smiles as he told us how well Rachel did during surgery. I remember him saying that there was minimal blood loss-really no blood loss to speak of, and that it was a, "hum-drum, text book surgery." (I would never have thought that the words hum-drum could even be used when referring to brain surgery! God is amazing!) He did carve out the back of her c-1 vertebrae and he thinned Rachel's dura enough that he could see through the dura and look at her brain tonsils (the ones that were growing into her spinal cord). He said there is a definite pressure change in her brain. In fact, he said, "there was one unexpected thing that happened during surgery."

And my heart sunk! He must have noticed because he quickly explained, "It was a good unexpected thing." All of us leaned in closer so that we could hear him more clearly. Dr. Roberts continued, "After we removed part of the posterior fossa bone, it popped up! This was clear confirmation that brain decompression surgery needed to be done. Her brain was under tremendous pressure." He explained further that in all of the decompression surgeries that he has performed, having it pop up was a first.

It took all of us a little while to wrap our minds around what he had just said. I remember questions were asked as we tried to take in all that God had done. We wondered if her brain popped up, her brain tonsils, or was it the skull that popped up? (It wasn't until the next day, the day after surgery that I asked him to explain that again so that Rachel and all of us could hear it once more. He smiled and told Rachel the story...and we all listened intently. He smiled as he told her about the 1 1/2cm tall by 4cm wide portion of her posterior fossa that he removed and after removing that portion, how her skull popped up 2mm. He seemed pleasantly surprised by this as he had not seen that happen before. He tenderly conveyed to Rachel that the popping up was confirmation of the tremendous pressure her brain had been under and that there was a definite pressure change). Oh, God is so good!!!!!

After what seemed like years, the nurse called to let me know that we could meet Rachel at the "purple squares" just down the hall and go with her to her private room. I remember asking if she meant ICU and she responded by saying that Rachel was doing so well and that ICU would not be necessary. Glory! We were told in the beginning to expect ICU and a 2-3 day hospital stay after ICU. I was more than prepared to sleep in a chair in her ICU room if they would let me. We were overjoyed to know that ICU would not be necessary.

Finally, seven hours after I had kissed my precious daughter on the cheek, I was able to see her again. I'll never forget that moment! The air was thick with anticipation, my heart was racing, my mind was reeling with what to expect, and then the doors opened! Rachel was awake. She looked right at me and said, "Hi, Momma! I love you!" {I'm nearly a puddle on the floor as I type those words again} It was a glorious reunion!!!

The nurses explained that Mr. Incredible and I could go with Rachel to her room and they directed our family members to another elevator. They told them to meet us in room....room...um, room? Then, Rachel's precious little voice said, "Room 4211." Not only was she awake but she was completely coherent. We all had a spring in our step as we made our way to her room.

She was very sleepy but she was doing so well...and we marveled at all that God had done. I remember thinking to myself, I know what our eyes have seen today, but I know there is so much more to the story....one day our Heavenly Father will share it with us....and my heart was absolutely overcome with thankfulness to the One who did it all!

Rachel slept a little, woke up for a quick drink of water and to see all of us, and then slept some more. Her little head was sore from the surgery and her lip was swollen from being intubated for so long (we didn't know it at the time but she was biting on her lip the entire time that she was in surgery-the doctor felt so bad about that....but we were fine with it...biting on her little lip was the least of our worries-our daughter was doing so well). I was so thankful that God had prompted my heart to purchase a Chiari pillow. It has a portion removed in the middle, so that her incision would not be resting on the pillow but her head would still be cradled by a very soft pillow. She loved it.

All of us slept much better that night. Every two hours Jennifer, a very compassionate and wonderful nurse, would come in to take her vitals and to give her medication for pain when she needed it and of course we would help Rachel with going to the bathroom and taking her meds. The doctor told us that this night would be much easier than the next day because she would still be under the effects of anesthesia but that the day after surgery to expect a rough, painful day. And that was okay, we had our daughter and we were so grateful.

Oh, there is more rejoicing to come. I'll try to post Part 4 tomorrow complete with pictures. May you have a most blessed Lord's day today!

Special Songs that Ministered to Us

Today is another glorious day! Rachel is doing so well and we continue to rejoice and marvel in all that God is doing! Her only pain seems to be coming from her incisions and that pain is very minimal. She only takes Motrin or Tylenol once or twice a day now. And my heart is simply overcome again with absolute gratitude and praise to the One who is so worthy of our absolute best praise! I will live the rest of my life thanking Him for all that He has done!

In sharing glimpses of surgery and this momma's reflection, I couldn't leave out an important part. Our family loves music; music speaks to our hearts.

Right before Rachel's surgery, I heard this song by Phil Stacey (the guy that was on American Idol a few seasons ago). It is called, "You're not Shaken." This song blessed me so much. I realized that if God was not shaken, then how could I be, because Rachel was being held in the palm of His mighty hands. We played this song over and over in the car as we traveled to Ft. Worth and then as we stayed busy the day before surgery.

This next song was heavy on my heart too both before surgery and during surgery. The words say, " Be strong in the Lord and, never give up hope,You're going to do great things, I already know, God's got His hand on you so,Don't live life in fear..." I knew in my heart that God still had big plans for Rachel's life and this song really ministered to my heart and to her heart as well.

This week Rachel and I ran a few, very short errands. I didn't want her to be out in public where a lot of sick people might be, but she really wanted to get out of the house for a little while, so we decided to carefully run a few errands. While we were in the car, this song by Kutless (That's what Faith can Do) came on Air1 and I noticed that Rachel instantly started crying, huge alligator tears. She explained that this was one of the songs that really ministered to her during the days leading up to her surgery.

What songs are ministering to you right now? I would love to know.

Reflections on Rachel's Surgery Part 2

It is late and I really should be sleeping, but I just can't seem to sleep tonight. I just crept to the girls bedrooms to make sure that they were both sleeping soundly and my heart began to ache. They are both more than fine, sleeping soundly, and dreaming sweet dreams but my heart is simply overwhelmed by all that has happened this year and in the last 10 days. I just had to pause beside Rachel's bed and thank the Lord for all that He is, for all that He has done, and for all that He has taught us this year.

There is so much that I have not shared about Rachel's surgery and so much that I need to write down so that we can have a journal of all that God has done and is continuing to do for Rachel.

This coming Christmas day will mark the one year date of our precious daughter's journey. You see, her daily headaches began on December 25, 2008. Little did we know then, that these were no ordinary headaches and that she would be soon diagnosed with a rare brain malformation called Arnold Chiari I.

It has been the most difficult year for year for Rachel and for all of us. It has been so hard to watch her suffer, but it has also been a great year where we have learned first hand that God is all-sufficient, that His grace IS enough, that nothing is too difficult for Him, that He is our Strong Tower, His care for His children can be so tender, being in the very palm of His hand provides strength and peace that we would not have known in our own strength or in our own power, and that He is over it all and He absolutely cares about every single detail of our lives.

I have known all of this about Him before, but now I KNOW that I know. I hope that makes sense. He has deepened our faith and our walk with Him. There is NO WAY that I could have survived this year without Him! No way! I don't know how unbelievers do life without the Lord, do you?

With the Lord's help, we tried to live life this last year as normally as possible and I tried to document most of that on this blog, so I'll just start my reflection on the day before Rachel's surgery because you already know about the wonderful Skillet concert 2 days before her surgery. What a delight from the Lord that was both to Rachel and to Hannah.

The day before the surgery, we tried to let the girls sleep in at the hotel. Mr. Incredible and I didn't sleep a lot that night so I was up early and trying to quietly get ready for the day. He was so sweet to go to the lobby and grab me a cup of hot coffee. The girls woke up ready to face the day and to somehow "stay busy," as Rachel put it. I helped Hannah put Skillet pictures on her facebook, blogged a little, and waited for the girls to get ready.

We decided to go have brunch at La Madeline. It was a delicious treat. Rachel finished her brunch with a creme brule while her sister looked on. (Hannah had chosen strawberries Romanoff instead) Rachel shared a bite with Hannah and Hannah responded by saying, "that makes me so emotional." I gave a nervous chuckle not knowing quite where Hannah was going and then asked her, "Why? Is it because your sister gave you a bite?" She laughed and said, "No! Creme brulee is just so good~it makes me emotional!" Then we all laughed. Hello! Drama Queen.

We finished brunch and then headed to the nearest Ft. Worth mall to do a little shopping. While we were there, the girls noticed a santa's village. I grabbed a quick shot of them with my i-phone. (Hannah's glasses are not real, they are from the Hawk Nelson/ Skillet concert and she thought they made her look a little bit like Taylor Swift. We saw a young mom and her daughter at the mall and they thought she was Taylor Swift. So, naturally, Hannah wore the glasses all day long!) Ha!

We did a little more shopping and then it was time for our pre-op appointment at Cook Children's hospital. I had already pre-registered by phone but we still had to wait in a roomful of parents and children and it was stressful and loud and a bit chaotic...and I began to become very uneasy. Thoughts like, "What if this is not right? What if something happens tomorrow? What if...what if...what if?" began to flood my mind. Huge tears flooded my eyes. I had tried to be so strong...and now I was on the verge of losing it! It wasn't long before Rachel's precious hand grabbed mine and said, "It's going to be okay. This is God's plan for me." And I tried not to become a puddle on the floor.

Just in perfect timing, this young girl came over and asked me, "What car do you drive? Where do your girls go to school? What kind of dogs do you have? What's your favorite color?" (Where is your mother? I thought to myself. Because at this point I was talking to the Lord pleading with Him that I didn't feel comfortable here and I thought this was where He led us but it was chaotic in there and I was ready to take Rachel and run far, far away!) Mr. Incredible, must have understood the look on my face because he began answering the young girl's questions.

It wasn't long before it was time for her to go with her parents and we all kind of relaxed a little bit. I felt the stress fall off just a little bit. It wasn't long before she returned and she started again, "What kind of car do you drive? Where do your girls go to school? What kind of dogs do you have? What is your favorite color? and my favorite question, "Those look like Sketcher shoes....what brand is that?" I nearly laughed out loud. In my mind, I said to the Lord, "You are good. All day long you have provided distractions so that we could enjoy our time together before surgery and at just the right moment when I was ready to take Rachel and run, you provided a very humorous distraction. You are good, I said!" We nicknamed the little girl, who was probably 13 years old, Dorey (like from Finding Nemo). Obviously she had short term memory problems, which is not a laughing matter, but she did provide a humorous distraction.

It wasn't long before Rachel's name was called and we were sent to a room to sign some more waiver forms. The lady there is a wonderful Christian woman, she was there when Rachel had to be admitted last February. I was reassured once more that we were exactly where God wanted us to be. Five minutes later we were headed to the surgical floor where we met Tracy and Kim. The both were extremely compassionate and reassuring of the care that Rachel would have. They had the best things to say about Dr. Roberts. Kim should have been off duty, but somehow (divine intervention) she was still at work and her friend Tracy asked her to take Rachel's blood. We learned that Kim was the best of the best and that it was unusual for her to still be at the hospital at that time. We smiled and told her that she was an answer to prayer.

The blood work went easily, our questions were answered, pre-op instructions were given, and soon we were on our way back to the hotel. We all felt so much better about it all and we were so thankful. Once again, we had reassurance that this was exactly where we needed to be. Don't you just love how God loves us and leads us?!!!

We met up with the grandparents, Aunt Sissie, Uncle Gib, and my brother to have a meal at Rachel's favorite restaurant. While the surgery was heavy on our hearts, it was nice to be together. We knew that the next day would come all too quickly, so we headed back to the hotel to try to get some sleep.

Amazingly, Rachel slept very well. I think her daddy and I saw nearly every hour that night. We literally prayed, slept a little, and prayed some more, all night long. When it was time, I got ready, Hannah got ready, and while Mr. Incredible was getting ready, I had the privilege of fixing Rachel's hair. She didn't wake up scared, she woke up ready for surgery. She knew without a shadow of a doubt that this was what needed to be done and that her Savior was coming to save the day for her...and I marvelled at her inward beauty and grace.

We arrived at the hospital by 5:30 am for her 7:30 surgery. They were having 110 surgeries that day. Wow! There were so many early surgeries that they had to take Rachel's blood pressure in a room with another girl who was all of 2 years old. The toddler did not like being at the hospital and she screamed at the top of her lungs the entire time. Rachel looked at me and then shook her head as the nurse took her blood pressure....which was completely normal....mine on the other hand was probably through the roof. Rachel remained calm under the stress and the pressure of the little toddler's tantrums. At one point I looked at Rachel and said, "If you start screaming, I am going to lose it" and we both giggled.

In what seems like 15 minutes, they had a private pre-surgery room for Rachel and we were so happy to go there. Mr. Incredible and Hannah were there waiting for us. Rachel put on her gown and they noticed that she still had her toenail polish on (we did take off her fingernail polish). While they got Rachel ready for her IV, Hannah got down on her knees and took off Rachel's toe-nail polish. It was the sweetest picture!

The nurses finished and gave us some time together before the neurosurgeon came in. My parents and Mr. Incredible's parents joined us where we all had the great privilege of praying over Rachel. We all held hands and prayed. My tears quickly began to flow as I once again dedicated our daughter back to the Lord. I reminded Him of all of the dreams and plans that He had for Rachel and that is when I once again asked Him to sing over her and to whisper His great love for her in her ears the entire time she was in surgery and that we trusted Him and to please, come and do what only You can do.

Our precious, precious daughter didn't cry. She told me days later, that she almost cried but that she had asked the Lord to give her strength for that day. She was a living testimony of Deuteronomy 31:6 that says, "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear or be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the one who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you," and of Psalm 27:14 that says, "Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!" and of Isaiah 41:10 that says, "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." He kept her in the very palm of His hands (Isaiah 49:16).

We knew it, Rachel knew it, and everyone taking care of her knew it too. Kim made a point to come in before they took Rachel back to surgery just to let her know that she too would be praying for her. God is so good! We met with the doctor and the nurses and anesthesiologist that would be with Rachel and then we were told to give her some love. It was just the surgical team, Rachel, her daddy, Hannah, and I in the room. Her nurse, Lewis, had her laughing as he wheeled her down the hallway. He asked her if she wanted to pop a wheelie and she giggled.

We watched Rachel wave to us and then the door closed...and then hand in hand, Mr. Incredible, Hannah, and I made our long walk to the waiting room where our excruciatingly long wait began.

Our family members met us there. The Lord was so near but the magnitude of what was happening made it so hard for me to even catch my breath at times. The wait was agonizing! I kept reminding myself that Lewis, the surgical nurse, had promised to call me every hour. We were thankful for family and friends who generously waited anxiously with us. One of my mom's dearest friends generously took the time to meet us in the waiting room. It was a sweet reunion, even in the midst of all that was going on. Here is my mom (on the left) with Glenda:

Hannah stayed pretty close, although there were times that she was more than happy to go on a short walk with one of the grandparents. Lewis was so good to call every hour and let me know what was going on and how Rachel was doing.

She was in a special Instant MRI suite for the surgery so that they could determine just how much of her posterior fossa to remove and if the dura would need to be opened. Lewis called me to let me know when they began the actual surgery and that he would call me with an update within the hour. That was the most agonizing time because it was nearly an hour and a half until he called again. His first words to me where, "I am so sorry Mrs.___, Rachel is doing very well. There are no complications, I just forgot to look at the clock." I was so relieved! Yes, "The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He will also hear their cry and save them" (Psalm 145:18-19).

It wasn't an hour later before he called me to let me know that the surgeon had completed phase I, and that they would be doing an MRI to see if the dura needed to be opened. We all sent out texts and prayer requests letting people know that this was the crucial part in the surgery and that we were praying that the Dura would not have to be opened, but still trusting that God was over this too, and that we wanted His perfect will in this process.

Another hour passed and Lewis called me to let me know that the surgeon was satisfied with the surgery and that they would not be opening the dura and to expect 45 minutes to an hour to close up, another hour in recovery, and then we could see our daughter. Glory! Praise, you Father!

I know this was a lengthy post. If you are still with me, thank you! My eyes are getting heavy. I think I can now get some sleep. I'll try to post Part 3 some time tomorrow.

Show us Your Life-Christmas Trees

Photobucket

Welcome to our home. I am so excited that you decided to drop by. I would love to fix you a hot, steamy cup of cider and show you my Christmas trees for reals....but instead, I'll try to show you in pictures. May the blessing of the Lord be yours this Christmas!

This is our "Family" tree. It is always the last thing we decorate each year. It doesn't really have a theme but each ornament has a story and it is fun to hear the laughter and the stories as each one is hung.

My parents brought me the wide tulle like ribbon from Canton and I just love it!!!!

Every year I try to add an ornament that best represents our family (this year it was an ornament from our trip to St. John) and one for each of our daughters to capture their year.

Rachel is our walking miracle. It is hard for me to believe that her brain surgery was just one week ago. We set out yesterday to find the perfect ornament. Miss Casey's, an awesome Christmas store, had the perfect one. It is pink just like the "praying for Rachel" bracelets we had made and they personalized it to say, "With God Miracles Happen. Psalm 126:3 Rachel 2009."

Hannah is playing junior high basketball this year. She has scored a total of 39 points in 3 games so we had to go with a basketball!

I saved baby shoes from my girls and put them on the tree every year. I even saved the "Nestles" baby hair gel bottle and hang it with a ribbon on the tree every year:

This is another tabletop tree in our family room. Once upon a time, Mom and I made crafts for area craft shows. My dad and Mr. Incredible built the wooden boxes, and Mom and I painted them and added dried fruits and nests, ribbons, stars, and lights.

This is another tree from our craft show days. I added gingerbread people and placed it on our kitchen table:

This is another small tabletop tree on our bar/eating area in the kitchen. I gave an easy tutorial here last year.

This is my Texas tree that sits on my kitchen island~thanks Mom and Dad! They bought it at Canton, Texas several years ago. I had a USA tub that seems to hold it perfectly:

This is our living room tree. This room is in all neutrals, so I decorated this tree with creams, whites, silver, and gold:

I like these little birdies...I always think of Nester when I put them on the tree (and I don't even know her in real life....blog land is so much fun!)

This is a fun tree in the gameroom:

The girls painted these little wooden ornaments years ago:

This is Rachel's tree (another tree from the Sunday House in Canton, TX) and Kelly, she leaves this up year around:

(I just realized Hannah did not put up her tree this year)
This is in my entry way. It is a topiary tree from Hobby Lobby that I normally have in my kitchen but I add red sprigs to it and use it on my entry-way table:

Almost finished. Are you still with me?
These are our outside trees. I found the gold ornament trees at Lowes this year, had Mr. Incredible help me put them in my black pots, and placed them on the porch. I left the dirt in my pots and everything.
I really like how they add some glitz to the front porch:

Whew! That is all. Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the world today! I am looking forward to seeing your Christmas trees too.
Now, go visit Kelly's Korner to see incredible Christmas trees!

A Snow Day!!!!!

(Please, don't forget to enter my giveaway...see my previous post and enter today, you only have until 5:00 CST Saturday afternoon)

I adore snow! Don't you? Well, maybe you don't if you get lots and lots of it.
But, this Kansas girl loves a good snow!
It is a rare and beautiful thing when our little corner of Texas
is blessed with the white, billowy, wonder.
I feel like Buddy the Elf, "I love it! I love it! I love it and I don't care who knows it!"

Last night we all gathered around the tv to listen to the weather reports. We had visions of snow dancing in our heads but Mr. Un-Incredible (he is always Mr. Incredible) looked at us and laughed. Hannah got a text from a friend saying that it was snowing. So she and I, with Rachel right behind us, rushed to the front door to see the snow.

We stood outside on the porch....squinted really hard....looked with childlike wonder....and saw the teeny tiniest little snowflake dance around us....and we screamed, "It's snowing!!!!!"

Mr. Incredible joined us...and his laughter continued as he said, "Where? That isn't snow!"
He walked out to the sidewalk...and I just couldn't help myself so I said, "Cover him with it Lord. I know that you can do it. He doesn't believe that it is coming so please, just cover him" and then we all giggled and ran back inside to our laughing fire.

I put on my snowflake pjs and we made smores...yum!

Look at Hannah' face. It has been awhile since we last made smores. Ha!

Rachel got into the action too...big sister can do better....or so she thought! Yes, she burned her marshmallows too.

And then we all climbed into our beds to dream of our wintry, white snow land.

The phone rang at the early hour of 5:20 with good news that school had been cancelled. Yay!!!
I ran to the window and hollered to Mr. Incredible, "Come look! He did it! He did it! It snowed!" ~and secretly wished that Mr. Incredible had been on the sidewalk when the snow showers began :-)

It was beautiful! I just had to wake up Hannah to tell her that she didn't have to worry about 7:15 basketball practise because it was a snow day. Her excitement was this, "Oh, no! What about the dance!" Oiy!! To be in junior high again. The winter dance is tonight. One of her friends was hoping to get her first kiss tonight....and my daughter was planning to dance with as many of her friends as possible including one special friend (who will NEVER be good enough for my baby!!!!! But will there ever be?) Ha! I think my parents said the same thing once upon a time.

She is sleeping soundly, but Rachel and I are up looking at the beauty of God's snow.
I always, always think about our sins and how He washes them white as snow. It is a beautiful reminder of the incredible gift of salvation!

While Rachel really wanted to go outside....are you kidding me? I couldn't risk her falling on the ice....one week after brain surgery! So, instead I ventured out, still in my snowflake pjs, wrapped in my very warm coat, and my snow boots...yes I was a gorgeous sight to see I'm sure, and took some pictures to capture the memory of the beautiful snow day. Wanna see?

The palm tree has never looked better

Now, it looks like Christmas!

It may not be more than 2 inches, but it is glorious!

What a blessing from above! Ya'll have a great day. I'm off to make a snowball, bring it in the house, and let Rachel throw it at someone...too bad Mr. Incredible headed to work today. Let's just hope Rachel doesn't have her heart set on making a snowman! Ha!!!

The Lord Your God is With You

Would you like to see Rachel? I thought you might like to see this precious, walking miracle:

"The Lord your God is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love. He will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17

Our dear daughter does not look like she just had brain surgery, does she? I have told her countless times just this week that she is a walking miracle, a visible reminder that God is still on His throne, He is alive and active in the lives of His children, and that nothing is too difficult for Him! Glory!

I have prayed many, many scriptures of her~before, during, and after her surgery. This was one that I prayed often for her. As we were gathered in the pre-op room, we gathered around her bed and prayed (this must have been the 1,000th prayer I had prayed for her that day and it was only 7:15 am) and as I once again gave her back to Him, I asked the Faithful One to do what only He could do but I also asked Him to sing over her the entire time that she was in surgery and to whisper in her ears His great love for her. (I feel the tears welling up again as I type this).

It was a precious, precious moment...lifting prayers for Rachel....we were all right there....her daddy, Hannah, Granny, Grandpa, Nonnie, Poppie, Aunt Sissie & Uncle Gib (a little bit later), Rachel, and I...and He was so evident in our circle. It wasn't long before it was time...be still my heart! She didn't cry one time. Rachel was ready and completely confident that her Savior, her Great Physician would come to her rescue...and He did in a mighty, mighty way!

I was and continue to be in awe of her grace, well beyond her years, and her quiet confidence in her Lord. I would love to have heard what He chose to sing over her and the precious words of love and comfort that He whispered in her ear the entire time that she was in surgery...one day I will get to hear Him tell me the story.

Over the weekend, I was doing a little blog hopping and I found this incredible Christian t-shirt company, the Wild Olive Tees, they had a beautiful t-shirt with the same verse that I had prayed over Rachel and I just had to get it for Rachel!
I placed my order and quickly tabbed to what I thought was our correct state, but instead entered TN instead of TX and hit, order. Oh, no! I found an email address and quickly asked them to change my order. In the mean time, I received an email confirmation of my order. So, I replied to that email while trying to explain a little bit of Rachel's story and how much that verse has meant to us.
A precious lady named Aime responded. This was what she said, "We all saw the second email come in at the same time, and were blown away by the testimony!!!AWESOME!!!! That made us smile BIG!!! God is so good! If it is okay with you, we would like to treat your daughter to this shirt....Thanks for sharing a smile!"

Wow! Her shirt is on its way....what a blessing! I am so thankful for Aime and this amazing company and for Who it represents.

So....................I want to pass the blessing on to you too.
Yes! A GIVEAWAY!!!!!

You have been an amazing support to us and I want you to bless YOU. While, I would love to give all of you one of their t-shirts, I can only give one away. One more thing, if you would like a second chance, tell me that you are a follower of my blog (join today if you like) and I'll add your name to the basket AGAIN, for a second chance. Oh, this will be so much fun! Happy shopping, their t-shirts are incredible.
