Ten on Tuesday

1. Happy Ten on Tuesday! Yes! I remembered this week. Ha!

2. Only in Texas can you have 72 degree weather on Sunday and freezing cold, blowing snow, and blowing dirt the very next day. I think it is all of 37 degrees outside as I am typing this and I am wondering if our back fence is going to remain standing against this 65 mph wind. Our trash dumpster outside already bit the dust. Oiy!

3. I still can't believe our youngest daughter just went to prom this weekend. She looked so gorgeous! (See yesterday's pic).

4. Only two more weeks until Spring Break!!!! I'm a teacher, can you tell? Ha!

5. I am married to an incredible man who loves me well. Not only did I work my tail off for this year's prom and stood on my feet decorating and running prom most of Saturday and all of Saturday night from 6 until nearly 2 in the morning, my man did too! He even took Hannah to her hair appointment while I put the finishing touches on prom. Yes, I am dearly loved! He has no idea I am posting this picture...he was testing my light for me. I think he is so handsome in his pink shirt that matched my outfit perfectly.  We go together like peas and carrots (name that movie!). 

6. The EASIEST punch in the world is white grape juice and sprite! Mix 3 liters with one jug of white grape juice, stir, and add in ice to keep it cold. Yum!

7. Have you seen this video? Oh my goodness, it makes me laugh!





8. And I'm sorry, but this one makes me laugh...but probably because it is not my child doing this:



9. We have a new mattress! It's one of those fancy Serta Optimum beds that keeps you cool at night. My man sleeps kind of hot while I like to be bundled up like an Eskimo. The first night I nearly froze to death but my man was happy and I was all sexy in my flannel pjs, socks, and the covers up to my nose. The mattress is awfully hard when you first slide into bed but then cradles you a bit. The second night, my man found me jumping on the bed trying to break that thing in. And I slept much better that night. I still feel like I am getting a chiropractic adjustment when I crawl into bed but I think we both are sleeping better.

10. Have you eaten at the Moose Deli before?  They will make a chopped salad for you and it is incredible!!!  Well, incredible as far as salads go.  Yum....I may have to go there for dinner tonight.  Whew! I made it to ten things.  Happy Tuesday!

 

Ten on Tuesday

 1.  Hannah is playing and her Varsity Basketball team are in the first round of playoffs tonight!!! I am soooooooooo excited that I can hardly stand it. Go Lady Buffs!!!!  Go #50!!!!!!!!!!!!

2.  Sorry I missed Ten on Tuesday last week....crazy busy!!!

3.  LOVED this post!!!! Whether you are a photographer or not, this is a great post for everyone!  It is a great reminder to never give up even when things get tough! 

4.  And speaking of great posts.  This one really hit home!!!  If you are on the fence about having portraits taken of you with your family because you think you need to lose a few pounds first (Yes, I am talking to myself too) this is a must read!!!  I proudly am the one behind the camera. One of my favorite things is taking pictures of people that I love the most in this world!  And the few times I am on the other side of the camera, I rip myself apart when I see the images.  Heaven forbid that something should happen to me, I want my girls to have pictures of me with them...because when they see me in that picture, they will be looking at it through eyes of love. 
5.  I feel the need to say, #3 wasn't a ploy to get you to hire me to take your family photos.  Really, it wasn't! Although, you know I would be so honored!

6.  My baby girl turned 16 Sunday!  SIXTEEN!!!  Where has the time gone????!!

7.  Couscous is now a favorite at our house.  We like it better than rice these days and it only takes 5 minutes to prepare!!!

8.  Have I told you how much I adore Tervis???  I think I have a new addiction.  Seriously! They are the best at keeping drinks hot and cold.  And since my man and I are drinking a LOT more water these days, we can drink in style.  That sounds so wrong. Ha!

9.  Speaking of addictions, I like Scentsy too. Do you? I gifted several for Christmas this year.  I didn't realize how many I had purchased and given as gifts until someone was unwrapping a gift and one of my daughters said, "Another Scentsy?!"  Do you have a favorite scent? I really liked the  Caramel Pear Crisp this fall, and I played mixologist this winter with Sugar Cookie and Cinnamon Clove but I have no idea what to try for Spring.  Any suggestions?

10.  I like Justin Bieber's accoustic CD....but don't tell anyone. Ok?!

Ten on Tuesday

1.  Um, February begins Friday~what?!  That's the month my baby girl turns Sweet Sixteen.  {Be still my heart}

2.  We went Prom dress shopping last weekend and it was so much fun...but kind of made my heart hurt at the same time! Motherhood-a constant mix of special moments mixed with the ever present feeling that time needs to stand still!

3.  Just last week someone stumbled on to my blog because they googled, "Biker babe only wearing chaps." Huh?!!!  Why me???

4.  Turkey Burgers are delicious.  Sorry, fellow Texans!  But, seriously they are.  I didn't snap a picture of ours because I was starvin' marvin' but here is my recipe:  Mix 1 1/2 pounds of lean ground turkey, garlic, minced onions, and 1 cup of salsa.  Form into patties and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.  We grilled ours inside because a family of mice has decided our grill is their new home. Oiy!  I added a bit too much salsa so our burgers were not perfect patties but they were perfectly delicious!

5.  My photography business is booked solid until the last week of April....although I am still managing to fit a few more sessions in to my schedule between now and then.

6.  My Rachel is on the Dean's list for last semester's stellar grades.  This seems to be her norm...we are so proud!

7.  Last week, when nearly the rest of the country was snowed in, we had near 70 degree temperatures two days and 50's the rest.  They say if you don't like the weather in Texas, hang on, because it may change that very day!

8.  The hubs and I are are still drowning ourselves with water daily.  We read something about drinking half of your weight in water ounces.  Did that make any kind of sense?  Needless to say, I once thought 8-8 oz glasses use to be difficult...try adding a few more.  Yes, we are still Mr. and Mrs. I.P. Freely!

9.  I like sweet potato fries!  Not the kind I have to make-who has time for that! I like the pre-cut frozen kind. Delicious!

10.  I like a Ninja! Not just any Ninja....my Ninja blender. It crushes ice in seconds which is perfect for smoothies!!!

Ten on Tuesday

It's Ten on Tuesday time again. With my NYC posts, I totally missed doing these.  So, here goes, ten things that caught my interest or just random info I wanted to share.

1.  Do you like my little Ten on Tuesday graphic? Me too! I thought it would be fun since I like to try to do Ten on Tuesdays. Anyone want to join me?

3. TAXES.....my least favorite five letter word! I am much better organized this year, but oh my goodness, gracious, what a life-sucker taxes are! I think I would rather have my wisdom teeth taken out again. At least there would be unlimited amounts of ice cream at the end...although there still might be after I get our taxes together...and smoking....and drinking (I really don't do those, Starbucks coffee is my thing~oooh, that's a much better idea!!!).

4. Mr. Incredible and I picked the COLDEST week of the year to begin drinking more water. Say hello to Mr. and Mrs. I.P. Freely. Yowza! And that picture makes me want to go to the bano...excuse me for a sec!

5.  I purposefully chose to savor every second with my family over the Christmas break.  The weeks before Christmas were filled with photography orders, designs, purchasing new props (tax deductions), and lots of paper work!  I chose to put it all in my office and shut the door.  January is for reorganizing-right?!  Well, the office can wait no longer!  I nearly fell to my death as I fumbled my way to the office yesterday morning at the early hour of 5 a.m.  I knew that I had photography session emails to schedule and a few things I needed to do on the computer before school. I didn't want to wake my man who was sleeping in the next room. OIY!  It's time to reorganize my mess of an office!  Anybody want to help?!

7.  Nearly every weekend is booked until April! What a blessing to photograph so many! God is good and I love this adventure with Him.

8.  Balance!  If you have a secret to balancing teaching high school full time, and having a thriving photography business as well as being a wife, and mom I would LOVE to know.  Some days I think I am doing pretty well and other days I open the door to my office and I am overwhelmed.  I want to do all of it for God's great glory and for His great purpose....but some days I wonder if I am doing any of it well. Do you ever feel that way too?

9.  Louie Giglio....we were blessed to meet him at our Baylor Days. He led First Choice on Monday nights.  It started with a small group and grew and grew and grew into Passion!  What a ministry.  He has been under fire lately and while my heart is broken for Him, I know full well that God will defend his good name and somehow use it all to further His kingdom!

10.   Do you remember the Cover Girl white concealer?  Um, it's back and better than ever. I like it much better than my expensive concealer that I purchased at Sephora.  It really helps on days when I slept a few less hours than normal.

Ten on Tuesday

My first Ten on Tuesday of 2013 post.  Woo hoo!  Here are 10 things that caught my eye over this past week or things I want to share:

1.  Inspiring story of an every champion! She totally inspired me...now if I can just get moving too!

 2.  Have you tried a Neti Pot?  They sound gross but really are helpful when you are miserable with the flu or a sinus infection....mine lasted a month!  This is a new version of a Neti Pot.  Just a word of warning, it shoots a pretty quick spray and if you don't have it in your little nostril all the way, you might just give yourself a little shower or not....just saying.  Ha!

3.  Pretty Little Liars returns to TV tonight and my girls are so excited!

4.  We were blessed with 2 inches of snow last week.  yes! I wore my snowflake pajamas that night and had wishful dreams of waking up to a winter wonderland.  It did snow but I didn't get to take a single picture....we had school.  No late start.  Sigh!  But, we were all thankful for the snow and the much needed moisture!

5.  So many new visitors have been visiting my blog lately.  Want to know why?  My mom's taco casserole is a hit on Pinterest!  

6.  I heart Jeggings! Seriously.  I thought they were a bit dorky, but I now love them and wish I had them in every color.  I bought mine at Dillard's, they feel like I am wearing pajamas and they fit so nicely in my boots!

7.  Spotify!  Do you spotify. Rachel told me about it and I love it. It is a great way to listen to a new cd without having to purchase it first.  Plus, you can listen whenever you are on a computer. Easy!

8. This is my favorite moisturizer! It is fantastic, oil free, and so helpful during this dry winter!

9. Do you Pick Your Plum?  Ha! That sounds funny! Seriously, this is such a neat online daily deal thing for DIY projects.  I ordered several Pick Your Plum Deals as Christmas gifts for my girls. The deal is that you have to get it before they sell out.  If you sign up, they send you an email with their daily deals. Sweet!

10.  Tuesday nights are basketball night...one of my favorite nights of the week! I always LOVE watching my baby girl on the court. Tonight, I get to sit by my Rachel as we cheer on her sister together.  No that is what I call delight!!!
