Happy Friday! Woo hoo!!! This post may be a bit random and I apologize. That's kind of the state I live in these days. By the way if you see my mind would you let me know where it went, I really miss it! Lost Mind! Reward offered!

Thankful Thursday-Grace

I'm so thankful for grace! (I've watched Christmas Vacation way too many times, because I just relived that scene where they ask the Aunt to say grace for dinner and she says," Grace? Oh, she died 3 years ago!) I need to focus! I meant to type, I'm thankful for God's grace!
God's grace is unmerited favor with God. It's not deserved, not earned, and it is absolutely incomprehensible to my mortal mind. I shudder to think where my life would be except for His grace! "But by the grace of God I am what I am..." I Corinthians 15:10.
Oh, there is no good in me alone. The only good in me is Jesus Christ Himself who is trying daily to conform my natural self into His image. Some days are more of a struggle then others because I can be stubborn!
He lovingly bestows more than enough grace for the moment and I'm so thankful. I'm not sure that I will ever completely understand the mystery of grace on this side of Heaven but for today, I will bask in His glorious grace and thank Him for blessing me far beyond what I deserve. He is absolutely incredible, all together lovely, all together wonderful...to me...and to you!
"The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen." Romans 16:24.
Joyfully,
Kristi
Word Filled Wednesday 9/17/08

Every time I see this picture a new verse comes to mind.
An Uncle on my husband's side of the family passed away last night from colon cancer. His colostomy and cancer flooded my mind with thoughts of my precious Aunt Faye and her courageous battle with colon cancer.
There were many times in my season of loss and grief that I didn't know how to pray. I would just fall to my knees and let Jesus intercede for me. I'm thankful that no matter what season we may find ourselves in, He intercedes to the Father on our behalf. Isn't that amazing??? What a mighty God we serve! Oh, there is no god like our God! Praise You, Father!
Tackle it Tuesday Leg Warmers?
I'm tackling the grass this week. The front yard is nicely manicured with perfectly mowed rows that make me so happy. I finished mowing in the moonlight last night. The backyard is not so perfect. With all the rain that we have had, the grass is nearly to the bottom of the trampoline. I kid you not! I'm not sure how I am going to tackle this so I thought I would talk about something more important...like leg warmers.
Is it me or have the 80's returned to the fashion world? I almost hate to type this, but leg warmers are back! Seriously, people. They are selling them in stores. Check these out and these too! Or these:

It makes me want to dust off my skates, find my rainbow colored leg warmers, pop in a little Olivia Newton John Xanadu or my Flashdance record, and back comb my hair 80's style. We were stylin' back then! I think this look could much improve my guitar hero abilities!
Oh, I'm kidding. I really didn't think leg warmers would come full circle but here they. Yes, girls, I wore the originals with my Gloria Vanderbilt jeans and my Mork and Mindy suspenders. That was hot! :-)
I don't think I'll run right out and purchase a new pair. What about you? Are you going to sport the new/retro look? I want to see pictures if you do!
Joyfully,
Kristi

Junior High Homecoming Highlights
Tuesday night was the Community Wide Homecoming Parade. She and two of her classmates were picked to pull their red wagon float. They won!
Wednesday was "Red Carpet Day." The Junior High students dressed as movie stars. Hannah was Elle Woods from Legally Blond but all of her buddies kept calling her Paris Hilton. Oiy!
I know that I am her mom, but wow! Isn't she beautiful?!
Thursday was "Represent Your Favorite School Day." Hannah borrowed her Daddy's Baylor Line t-shirt and wore it with pride. She was green and gold in a sea of tee-tee, I mean TT, for Texas Tech, yuck! Sic 'em bears!

And, she was chosen as Student of the Week!
What a great week she has had!
I feel that I must add: Rachel has had a GREAT week too. They had different themed days this week at the high school, but it's just not the same. They did have a "Tacky Day" yesterday and Hannah offered to dress Rachel but all she received was a "No thank you!" Can you blame her?
Mr. Incredible and I have had a great week too. We have a special something planned on Saturday that just might involve a camera. I can't give you the details because it's sort of a Christmas surprise. We have planned this for months. Wouldn't you know it, 3 days before the big day, I have a huge zit on my left cheek the size of Mt. Vesuvius. I kid you not! When people quit looking you in the eyes to speak to you and stare at your cheek with wide eyes of horror, you know it's not a figment of your imagination but I sure wish that it were! I'm thinking of naming it because it clearly has a life of its own. Oh my goodness! I'm sorry if that was way more information than you wanted but someone out there can relate. Mt. Vesuvius go away and don't come back another day 'cause I'm not in junior high anymore!
I better run! Have a blessed weekend. We are praying for our fellow Texans and our neighbors in Louisiana that God would be merciful and that He would calm the storm as only He can do.
Joyfully,
Kristi
