Okay, I'll zoom in a little closer. They are not baby deer or even baby squirrels (but how cute would that be).
They are baby cotton tail bunnies. And they are sooooooo PRECIOUS!!!!
My motherly instinct is in complete overload! I think about them all the time. The girls and I check on them several times throughout the day and before we go to bed at night. We weren't sure if they were being fed or not so Hannah and I placed two twigs in the shape of an X on top of the little bunny burrow and when we checked on the baby bunnies in the morning it was gone. Their momma is feeding them at night.
After a little research, we learned that the momma bunny pulls out her own hair to help insulate the nest for her babies. And she feeds them at night and hides during the day as to not attract predators to her babies. So sweet! Just look at those itty-bitty ears!
They still have their eyes closed and they grow by the hour it seems.
A few are starting to hop a little bit when we come to check on them. It is so funny.
Baby cotton tail bunnies...I'm in love!

Awwwww! I'll have to show Caleb and let him guess on yesterday's picture.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Your girls are so beautiful! They grow up so fast. How are you and the family doing?
ReplyDeleteGod bless you.
Awww...maybe they will stick around when they get bigger. You know that Momma is so eyeballing you when you're holding her babies. LOL!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
Have a super day my friend.
