Game Room Make-Over

Laura at Organizing Junkie is hosting a Playroom/Gameroom makeover. Here are my before pics:

The closet was a mess! When we built our house I asked for shelves instead of hanging racks. I knew we would need them. Where is the floor in this picture???

And here are the afters: (whew! much better)

I used the old diaper changing table in the closet for extra storage, lots of baskets for small games and Polly world. I used a clear 3 drawer container from the dollar store for Polly's, clothes, and accessories. Web kins were organized on the computer shelf and I sewed zebra print panels and covered the old lamp shade. I moved the extra trundle bed from another room into the game room for extra seating and a couch affect. It looks like fun for lounging and watching a movie don't you think?

The girls and I had fun with our makeover. Thanks for stopping by.

Joyfully,

Kristi

It's Official!

It's official! Rachel passed her driver's permit test with flying colors. Thank you, Father! Let the in car lessons now begin. It was a full afternoon at the DMV. I'll spare you all of the details but let me just leave you with one little tidbit in case you did not know this: a bra is not a cell phone holder. Yes, you read that right, and yes we saw it put into use. I'm not kidding, I wish that I was. We didn't know it was there until the woman's phone rang. Oh my goodness!

Blessings,
Kristi

Today I am thankful for so many things! Thank you Father, for this beautiful day and the warm sunlight that beckoned my eyes to open this morning and Your sweet invitation to join You in fellowship and the reading of Your Word. I have more blessings than I can count.
"How precious are your thougths to me, O God!" Psalm 139:17.
Here are just a few I wanted to share with my friends in this fun new blogging world:
Joy and laughter in our home last night!
We cleaned out our game room closet yesterday and found Twister.
I delighted in watching the girls play until they begged me to play too.
How long has it been since I played twister? Oh, my! We laughed until we nearly cried.
This was so much fun! Thank you God for incredible daughters, joy and laughter, and the privilege of being their Momma. My cup runneth over!

My man called me on his way home from work to tell me that he wanted
to go grocery shopping. What? Want to go grocery shopping? Are you serious???
I was delighted and blessed by his generous heart. That's my man!!! He had such fun picking out things and shopping and he surprised me with two wonderful treats that I just adore: Starbucks Coffee and Hot Tamales. Wow does he know how to get to my heart!
I'm thankful for dear husband and for his great love for the Lord, for me, and for our daughters.

What about you? I'm thankful that you stopped by my blog today. I pray that you too feel dearly loved by the Father and that your cup runneth over too.
May you have a blessed and joy filled day today!

Joyfully,
Kristi

Summer Refreshment

Happy Summer! We have had several days of over 100 degree weather so our summer seemed to have started three weeks ago. In fact, our Vacation Bible School week was the hottest that I can remember it ever being during VBS week. It may have been hot, but God blessed! Our church has Mega Sports camps every year. This year we did our favorite theme: Breaking Free. I led the cheerleaders with much needed help from my daughters and another friend. It was a blast! One of our younger cheerleaders, named Emily, asked Jesus to come into her heart and be her Savior. Oh the joy! Sweating in the heat for my Savior was never more sweeter, I almost typed sweatier-yikes! I love it when God lets us be a part of what He is doing. Glory!

I just finished working out in the yard and came in for a refreshing drink. It's so good that I wanted to share it with you. It is so easy but tastes so delicious. My mom and I served it at a baby shower we hosted last weekend. Thank you Mrs. Nora for the recipe!

Here goes:

Combine one 2 liter of Sprite Zero

one small container of Crystal Light Raspberry Tea

(one out of 4 or 6 depending on what size you buy)

Mix well and serve over ice.

It is so refreshing on a hot summer day. We haven't tried it yet, but Mrs. Nora says it's delicious with Crystal Light Lemonade too. Enjoy!

Joyfully,

Kristi

Home Tweet Home

My daughters are home! Oh, how I miss them when they are at camp. Hannah had a great time at basketball camp with her best friends, all 8 of them, from school. She got locked in her dorm room one night and that was scary. The lock was broken, and she couldn't get out of the door but people from the hall could come in. I would have been scared too! Thank you Jesus for protecting her. Rachel had a blast at Student Life Camp this week with her youth group. Shout out to Student Life Staff!
The girls look forward to going to camp all year. Secretly, I always dread camp when it comes, because I miss them so much when they are gone. Thank you sweet hubby for taking me out to dinner and back rubs at night. You know how to make this girl feel better. My nest feels full and our household is full of joy and laughter again. Welcome home, sweet girls! I love you both so much!

Joyfully,
Kristi

My first entry!

Welcome to my blog! I can't believe I have my very own blog! I feel like doing a praise dance. Thank you Jesus for this blog, may You be glorified in this area of my life. Oh, I have admired so many blogs and enjoyed reading, praying, laughing, and crying with so many of you! You have been a wonderful encouragement to me. I pray that I will be that kind of encouragement to others too. I promised my youngest daughter a trip to see Kung Fu Panda, and getting this blog organized has taken a bit longer than I thought. Off to the movies we go. May you have a blessed day in the Lord this day!

Joyfully,
Kristi
