It's so appropriate because we probably do it with them about 100 times in December. :) With a pop-up manger scene and 7 gift boxes for them to open at different points in the Christmas story that hold the different people in the story. The last box is a mirror, explaining that God wants 'You!' for Christmas. The girls loved the characters so much, they hauled them all over town last year. Even to their Christmas photos. I can't wait to get it out again this year.Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05385113276975410417noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3171914904179596460.post-32363187907596310672008-10-21T19:52:00.000-05:002008-10-21T19:52:00.000-05:00On Christmas Eve we all go to candle light service...On Christmas Eve we all go to candle light service then come home light candles, put on Christmas music, have special food, and open presents.Michele Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05544609585764963113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3171914904179596460.post-76312263926784079712008-10-20T11:11:00.000-05:002008-10-20T11:11:00.000-05:00What a great idea! Your blog is truly one of my faves.

Hmmm...we have several traditions, very hard to chose a favorite...it would probably be going to Christmas Eve service and then heading to my sister-in-law's house to celebrate with my hubby's family. She lives in a log cabin with a stone fireplace and it's just beautiful and so very homey. I have to say I also love Christmas Day. After gifts at our house that morning, we head to my parents. Their house is TINY and with all of us, the grandkids, etc. it's very, very COZY, but we just love it. Always a special time together.

Blessings & congrats once again!
TracyTracyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02158977330746847962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3171914904179596460.post-19831789679507943492008-10-20T06:43:00.000-05:002008-10-20T06:43:00.000-05:00Congratulations on 100 posts! I've been looking in my history folder for about an hour or two going through each blog that I had been on the last two weeks.

I wanted to make the shrimp boil that you had listed under recipes. I don't even know how I stumbled upon your site in the first place, but I'm so glad I did.

I love the recipes!

Congrats on your 100th post!

My fave tradition is opening one gift on Christmas Eve (usually jammies) and making decorations for the kid's tree. Then, a special dinner, the reading of the Christmas story by hubby, singing Christmas carols, siblings exchange gifts (this now includes our grandchildren opening their gift from their brother or sister. It's just the best night of the year.

Another tradition is having a Christmas party. Last Christmas, I had a Christmas tea for the ladies of our church at our home. When you have time, go to this link and read about it. It's very comical... it didn't quite play out the way I had planned it!
http://marshahmusings.blogspot.com/2007/12/time-for-christmas-tea.htmlMarshahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07476239476912894265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3171914904179596460.post-19761804098175385832008-10-18T17:30:00.000-05:002008-10-18T17:30:00.000-05:00What a great giveaway. I used to admire my grandparents and great grandmother (now since passed) who would recite it by heart. I remember thinking "One day, I'll be able to recite it without reading too" I'm still working on it. :)Nataliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11990561636330050820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3171914904179596460.post-72647078392350450512008-10-17T18:49:00.000-05:002008-10-17T18:49:00.000-05:00Girl,I was going to "retreat" from blogging as wel...Girl,
I was going to "retreat" from blogging as well, but the cabin has a computer!
I'm not doing much, but I did read your post today...congratulations. Last year I posted on my blog to see who everyone thought was the best, so that was fun. We also do Advent devotionals leading up to Christmas. Okay so that's a bit more spiritual lol. Happy 100th post my friend. I am so glad to have met you and learn more about your family. That ornament looks so cute.
Have a most excellent weekend.
Hugs.
KimKim @ Homesteader's Hearthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03787975654863452911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3171914904179596460.post-85104007606646711982008-10-17T14:16:00.000-05:002008-10-17T14:16:00.000-05:00Such a great idea for a giveaway with Christmas ri...Such a great idea for a giveaway with Christmas right around the corner.

Let me think about my favorite tradition....One of my favorites is to go look at Christmas lights. We did this every year that I remember growing up and now we do it with my son. It is an enjoyable drive out each year that I always look forward to doing.bphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09884081028227999883noreply@blogger.com
