Thursday Thoughts

Rachel's custom graduation cards came yesterday...and I LOVE them!  I can't wait to share them with all of you.  We had fun putting them together and we were so anxious to get our hands on them.  They are everything we hoped that they would be.  But, I still can't believe it is nearly that time.

Do you ever have one of those days where something just doesn't feel right? Yesterday I felt that way all day long.  I knew that I wasn't forgetting anything (at least I hope not), I wasn't sick, I wasn't stressed, I was tired but that goes along with being in the final 3 1/2 weeks of school. But, my spirit just didn't feel right.  Catch my drift? I didn't know why until last night.

After my parents got home from church, remember we have the blessing of living right next door, we ran over to show them Rachel's graduation announcements.  While we were there, my dad received a call from my Aunt Emily.  While they talked on the phone, my mom explained that Hospice has been called in to help care for my deteriorating grandmother {sigh!}.

Remember our trip to see her at Christmas time?  It was a wonderful visit, and isn't that just like the Lord?  The girls and I had already been making plans to drive the 8 hours to see her in June, so I was surprised to hear that she now sleeps for 20 hours at a time, doesn't have the energy to do anything, and that more than likely her pacemaker is keeping her alive.

My grandmother adores playing Scrabble and Bridge, and hasn't had the energy to play either one.  So, my heart is heavy today thinking about her and thanking God for her life.  We don't know how long we will have her with us but we know fully where she is going and that she longs to be reunited with my Grandpa, her beloved husband, and with her Savior who loves her so much.   Knowing full well His grace is sufficient in all things, we just pray and wait and trust and try to make her as comfortable as possible.

  1. Oh my friend, it's never easy. Praying for comfort over your family. But what a blessing to know where she is going and that her husband will be there waiting for her.

    God bless you.
