Shadow Puppets and Candles

Praise the Lord it's raining! We had a delightful evening without electricity because of the huge storms passing through. They arrived just in time; I had just pulled the Taquitos out of the oven and walla~no electricity.

We ate Taquitos by candlelight and relished the sounds of the flickering candles and the rain. We liked it for about 20 minutes and then we were bored. Oh, electricity how you do spoil.

So, we got creative with the candlelight and made shadow puppets.

Mr. Incredible's Rabbit

And my....who knows what these are...creatures.

The beautiful glow of the candles:

We laughed for awhile, sang Kum Ba Ya, and then we all broke out the battery charged laptops. The electricity came back on in an hour and then we all went to bed. I know...exciting times at Kiki's Corner.

We are thankful for the much needed rain and for the blessing of having electricity.

So, what did you do last night?

Joyfully,
Kristi

  1. Kristi,

Taquitos...my kind of gal, for sure! We made pasta and spent and evening laughing together about how badly we needed groceries!

Loved your candlelight...so beautiful! Happy Monday, my friend!

  3. Oh yes, we're thankful for the rain here too! The candelight is so beautiful. Nights like that sure make me thankful for electricity. It is nice to be different for a short time though and realize how beneficial that electricity is to all our tasks.

Hope you have a great week.

I'll write a post about the letter writing ministry. :) Thanks for asking.

  4. Ahh it brings back the times when we had no power for a week due to a hurricane! LOL. You do get bored really quick and in the summer, HOT, as well.
Mr. Incredible's rabbit looks like it may have rabies. LOL.
    Hugs my friend.
