Tackle it Tuesday: Voter's Guide

I don't know about you, but most elections leave me baffled and confused. I take my responsibility as a registered voter very seriously. I like to be an informed voter. I don't want to just sit in the booth and say "eeny meeny miny moe...they all look bad don't cha know." (I made that last part up) I want to know where these people stand, pray about how God would want me to vote, and then cast my votes confidently.

Several years ago, in order to become a more educated voter I began researching places that would help me become more informed about issues and candidates. Thankfully, I found the Free Market foundation Voter's Guide and I have wisely put it into practise. It is a "comprehensive, non-partisan guide for the election." I think it is a valuable tool.

One year, I wasn't quite satisfied with a certain presidential nominee's answers regarding an issue that was important to my heart, so I used the phone number for this person and reached his office. I was given the answer to my question in less than 15 minutes! Pretty neat, huh?

The cool thing about the guide is that I can highlight the candidates I will be voting for and take the guide with me when I vote.

Last night Mr. Incredible saw me looking through the guide and asked me about it. He had never seen me use it before, probably because I would research it while he was at work. I felt badly that I hadn't shared it with him before. It's probably because mine is always marked up or highlighted and I certainly don't want to tell him how to vote.

Anyway, I shared my guide with him and I wanted to pass this information on to you. I'm certainly not going to tell you how to vote, but if you want to feel better educated in your vote, please visit this website. Yes, there is a lot of information for Texas voters, but it has useful information for federal candidates too. I think you will be happy that you took the time to check it out!

Joyfully,
Kristi

  3. Hey,Kristi! I'm so glad you posted this today... I've been looking for something similar. My favorite part is that you mentioned it was non-partisan. I have so much trouble finding something that isn't leaning one way or the other.

Thanks, too, for you sweet comments you left earlier this morning. So encouraging... you are great!

    Happy Tuesday!
