100 Posts...A giveaway!

100 Posts! Wow! When I felt God calling me to start blogging, I really didn't know how long it would last. I thought maybe a few days or a week, because what on earth am I going to write about? I am giggling at some of the material He has provided to blog about...the skunk...our romantic date to Furr's Cafeteria...driver's education...first day of junior high school...so many things.

In 100 posts, I have laughed, cried, and run the gamut of emotions. Thank you for blessing me by visiting my littler corner of the world. To know that you care enough to take time out from your busy lives to stop by and see what God is doing in my life and the life of my family, blows my mind! It's a humbling thought. I'll never be able to thank you enough. You are a blessing to me!

With so many of you, that I may never meet this side of Heaven, we have laughed together, cried together, prayed for each other, and we are growing in grace together in this journey of faith. You are some amazing friends!

Instead of posting 100 things about me, I thought I would just have a give away. I've shared so much with ya'll and I'm just not sure that 100 things about me would be that interesting.

I found 2 adorable laptop computer ornaments at my favorite store, Hobby Lobby. I painted Kiki's Corner on mine and I will be happy to add the winning blog name to yours, if you like. We have a tradition of adding a new ornament to our family tree that represents something special from the year. I don't have ornaments for the girls, just yet, but I did find this one for me. Blogging has become such a joy and a blessing, I had to have an ornament that represents this!

I thought you might enjoy one too!
In order to enter, all you have to do is leave a comment telling me your favorite Christmas tradition. You have to enter before midnight (CST) on October 23rd. I'll announce the (one) winner on Friday, October 24th.
Sound fun? I hope so.
I can't wait to read about your favorite Christmas traditions.
Christmas is just around the corner!

Joyfully,
Kristi

  1. Such a great idea for a giveaway with Christmas right around the corner.

Let me think about my favorite tradition....One of my favorites is to go look at Christmas lights. We did this every year that I remember growing up and now we do it with my son. It is an enjoyable drive out each year that I always look forward to doing.

  2. Yeah I'm first! Though this tradition isn't very spiritual it's fun. We have a gingerbread house competition and it does get heated lol. Last year I posted on my blog to see who everyone thought was the best, so that was fun. We also do Advent devotionals leading up to Christmas. Okay so that's a bit more spiritual lol. Happy 100th post my friend. I am so glad to have met you and learn more about your family. That ornament looks so cute.
    Have a most excellent weekend.
    Hugs.

  3. Girl,
I was going to "retreat" from blogging as well, but the cabin has a computer!
I'm not doing much, but I did read your post today...congratulations. I'm so glad I have been able to read most of them! What a blessing.
One of my favorite Christmas traditions is writing a poem to go in our Christmas cards.
I love so much about the season that it is hard to narrow it down. I'm so thankful I'm going to be "home" this year as well.

  4. What a great giveaway. My favorite Christmas tradition...reading the Christmas Story on Christmas Morning before opening presents. I used to admire my grandparents and great grandmother (now since passed) who would recite it by heart. I remember thinking "One day, I'll be able to recite it without reading too" I'm still working on it. :)

  5. Christmas Eve is always our special time. Going to Christmas Eve service, then coming home and lighting lots and lots of candles. Then, a special dinner, the reading of the Christmas story by hubby, singing Christmas carols, siblings exchange gifts (this now includes our grandchildren opening their gift from their brother or sister. It's just the best night of the year.

Another tradition is having a Christmas party. Last Christmas, I had a Christmas tea for the ladies of our church at our home. When you have time, go to this link and read about it. It's very comical... it didn't quite play out the way I had planned it!

  6. I found you! I've been looking in my history folder for about an hour or two going through each blog that I had been on the last two weeks.

I wanted to make the shrimp boil that you had listed under recipes. I don't even know how I stumbled upon your site in the first place, but I'm so glad I did.

    I love the recipes!

    Congrats on your 100th post!

My fave tradition is opening one gift on Christmas Eve (usually jammies) and making decorations for the kid's tree. (We have 2 official trees, one for the kids to touch and one for mommy's pretty ornaments.)

  7. Hi Kristi,
    Congratulations on your 100th post!
Great idea about the Christmas traditions ....~
The tradition at our house is that every year we have birthday cake at our Christmas dinner. We light the candles and sing Happy Birthday to Jesus. It just wouldn't seem like CHRISTmas without singing Happy Birthday and making Him a cake.
    Congratulations!

ps. BTW... I'll never forget your skunk post. ;)

  8. Congratulations on 100 posts!

My favorite family Christmas tradution is putting Baby Jesus in the manger on Christmas morning before the kids wake up. The first thing the kids do before presents is to check if Baby Jesus is in the manger and wish him a Happy Birthday!

  9. What a great idea! We also add a new ornament or two from every year. Love the one you found! How perfect for your first year of blogging! Congratulations! Your blog is truly one of my faves.

Hmmm...we have several traditions, very hard to chose a favorite...it would probably be going to Christmas Eve service and then heading to my sister-in-law's house to celebrate with my hubby's family. She lives in a log cabin with a stone fireplace and it's just beautiful and so very homey. I have to say I also love Christmas Day. After gifts at our house that morning, we head to my parents. Their house is TINY and with all of us, the grandkids, etc. it's very, very COZY, but we just love it. Always a special time together.

    Blessings & congrats once again!

  11. Happy 100th! Hmmmm....my favorite tradition would have to be doing the inter-active kids nativity "What Does God Want for Christmas?" with my girls. It's so appropriate because we probably do it with them about 100 times in December. :) With a pop-up manger scene and 7 gift boxes for them to open at different points in the Christmas story that hold the different people in the story. The last box is a mirror, explaining that God wants 'You!' for Christmas. The girls loved the characters so much, they hauled them all over town last year. Even to their Christmas photos. I can't wait to get it out again this year.
