Thankful Thursday-Grace

I'm so thankful for grace! (I've watched Christmas Vacation way too many times, because I just relived that scene where they ask the Aunt to say grace for dinner and she says," Grace? Oh, she died 3 years ago!) I need to focus! I meant to type, I'm thankful for God's grace!

God's grace is unmerited favor with God. It's not deserved, not earned, and it is absolutely incomprehensible to my mortal mind. I shudder to think where my life would be except for His grace! "But by the grace of God I am what I am..." I Corinthians 15:10.

Oh, there is no good in me alone. The only good in me is Jesus Christ Himself who is trying daily to conform my natural self into His image. Some days are more of a struggle then others because I can be stubborn!

He lovingly bestows more than enough grace for the moment and I'm so thankful. I'm not sure that I will ever completely understand the mystery of grace on this side of Heaven but for today, I will bask in His glorious grace and thank Him for blessing me far beyond what I deserve. He is absolutely incredible, all together lovely, all together wonderful...to me...and to you!

"The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen." Romans 16:24.

Joyfully,

Kristi

  3. That is so funny b/c I was just talking to another friend about Christmas Vacation...what a riot that movie is. Anyway, I am so very grateful for the Lord's grace. Just the morning, Brea went into Brooke's room right after she fell asleep, turned on the light, and said, "Good morning, sister!" Grace, Lord, please give me grace. I wasn't too pleased in that moment. So, I sent Brea to her room for 10 more minutes. When she came out it was time to get the bread out of the oven. She said, "Mommy, that smells so delicious." It made me heart smile and fixed the grump in me that had started to form. Anyway, have a great day.

  10. Now you've got me singing an old hymn!

"Grace, grace, God's grace. Grace that will pardon and cleanse within. Grace, grace, God's grace. Grace that is greater than all my sins."

    Praise Him!

  12. Kristi,

AMEN! Oh how good is God to give us anything let alone His grace. Which is more than enough and sufficient to meet our every need.

We are so blessed and once we all stop trying to do and allow His grace to do - then and only then can we experience the peace and joy He promises!

    Blessings and love,
    Jill

  18. I,too, am thankful for the grace of God. I know that is the only way that my husband and I are where we are. So undeserving, so sinful.... He still gives us His grace.
